- Verify the license on the Florida DBPR license search. A certified pool/spa contractor (CPC) license is valid statewide; a registered (RP) license only where the contractor is registered locally. See our licensing guide.
- Get the contract, payment schedule and written warranty (structure, equipment, finish, workmanship) before any money changes hands, and make sure payments track completed stages.
- Confirm who pulls the building permit and who handles HOA approval, and that the price includes the required pool barrier/fence.
- Get 2–3 written, itemized quotes for the same size, type and features.
